*How do we get there???
The best way to get to Gyeong Bok Palace is by subway!
Just take off at Gyeong Bok Goong (palace) station. Then you will be dropped off right next to Kyung Bok Palace.

Adult (19-64): ₩3,000/₩2,400 (20 or more people)
Child (7-18): ₩1,500/₩1,200

*Open Hour
From March to October: 9 am to 6 pm (must enter by 5 pm)
From November to February: 9 am to 5 pm (must enter by 4 pm)
*** Gyeong Bok Palace is closed EVERY TUESDAY
*** Gyeong Hoe Ru is closed until February in '09
*** Free Guided Tour
Tours begin in front of the Information Office inside Heungnyemun Gate. Each tour takes about an hour.
Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more.

What is Gyeong Bok Palace? What do you know about Gyeong Bok Palace?
Gyeong Bok Palace is Korea's 117th historic relic. It was built by King Tae Jo (Lee Sung Ghae). It was built in the new capital, Han Yang (today's Seoul).
Gyeong Bok Palace contains many "rooms" and "doors."
The main gate to Gyeong Bok Palace is Gwang-hwa mun(door).
Then the first gate inside the palace walls comes out, which is Heung-nye mun (door).
Geun-jeong jeon (hall) is the national treasure no.223. It is a throne hall where the king and his court officials have receptions and announcements and also greet foreign envoys.
Sa-jeong jeon (hall) is a council hall where the king and his court officials discuss national affairs.
Gang-nyeon jeon/Gyo-tae jeon is a king and queen's living quarter where they carry our daily affairs.
Hyang-won jeon is a two-tier hexagonal pavilion built on an islet.
Dong-gung is a crowned prince and crowned princess's living compound.
Gyeong-hoe-ru Pavilion is the natoinal treasure no. 224. It is a pavilion built as a venue for the king, and his court officials and foreign envoys.

-Heung-nye-mun seen from the central arched entrance of Gwang-hwa-mun. A pair of phoenix is painted on the ceiling of the entrance. :-)
